 How to set up the reference box: www.youtube.com PART 2: www.youtube.com Here is the first of a big series on modelling a human head with 3DS Max. I used the 2011 version but the same will apply is using older OR newer versions. Also don't be put off by the number of parts to this particular tutorial as I have tried my best to explain EVERY ASPECT of modelling a head as best as I possibly can. Also the screen capture software I was using only allowed 10 minute recordings, heh, but now I can record up to 20 minutes so that means a better flow and alot less 'PARTS' in future tutorials :D Enjoy!!  Hello, this is a how to for realistic metal material in maya. The magic material is the Blinn material. The reason why I'm not utilising mia_materials is because this will allow for render layers and it gives me a bit more control over the material itself. Mental Ray has full compatibility with Maya's default shaders. This isn't the only way to do metal materials, I'm just covering one method. You should have 2 texture items so make sure you head to www.hdrmill.com for free HDR images (and some cheap ones) and www.cgtextures.com for metal textures. |
