 The Answer is yes. Of course more is better, and I recommend going lighter on your software if you are running on this type of hardware. But it is very usable.  So I've been seeing some videos of Compiz's headtracking plugin. However, it's very hard for a human with two arms to get stable footage of this thing (as I discovered while recording this). So I decided to give it a spin and get the plugin on my computer, and was satisfied with the result. So I installed it on the laptop, and it worked fine as well.  FAILURE! Compiz as a standalone in Arch Linux running in virtualbox is not practical. I was able to get it to work, but not in a manner that I would consider a success. Nonetheless, I take you through the steps necessary to get it working on an ACTUAL computer. Please READ the Compiz page on the ArchWIKI and also ensure that you have your graphics device is set-up properly. The Arch Wiki has complete details for setting up your graphics card for best performance to get this working. |
