 This is a step by step tutorial on how to update and jailbreak/unlock your iPhone on 3.0.1 firmware. The firmware is almost the same as 3.0 cept for fixing up the sms vulnerability. There fore I will be using the same method as for the 3.0 jailbreak using redsn0w 0.8. You will first need to download these 2 files. USE FIREFOX TO DOWNLOAD: Download 3.0 NOT 3.0.1 and upload into redsn0w. 3.0 Firmware IPSW here: Choose your iPhone 2G,3G,3GS www.felixbruns.de If they ask for password its: bluroom Redsn0w for Mac: thebigboss.org Redsn0w for PC: thebigboss.org To unlock add "repo666.ultrasn0w.com" to sources in cydia. ultrasn0w is spelled with a 0 (zero) STUCK at waiting for reboot?  Here are the firmwares to Unlock and Jailbreak your iPhone! Make sure you select the right one! iPhone (1st Gen) Custom Firmware (This firmware is version 3.1.2, and it is FULLY unlocked!) ONLY FOR THE FIRST GENERATION IPHONE! bit.ly Instructions FOR 1ST GENERATION iPhone UNLOCK! (This will reformat your iPhone) 1) Download the custom firmware 2) Plug your device into the computer 3) Hold the home button AND power button for 10 seconds 4) Release the POWER BUTTON and KEEP holding the home button for 15 seconds 5) Release the home button 6) Open iTunes, it should detect an iPhone in recovery mode. 7) Hold Option if your on a Mac, and with your mouse, click on restore 7) Hold Shift if your on a PC, and with your mouse, click on restore 8) Locate the Custom Firmware that you just downloaded from Mega Upload 9) Press choose and let it install!
