 I finally managed to install Ubuntu on my iPod Touch 3rd gen. Yes the iPod is jail broken so don't ask. In my last video where I ran Windows XP on my iPod touch people complained it was fake because i didn't use my finger...so i did this time. But a stylus like a pogo stylus is more precise. |

 UPDATE 21ST JUNE 2008 Please watch the video response and follow that method now because most people have a more updated firmware (ie not 1.1.1) therefore should use the Ziphone method as shown in the video responce. Although I used that on an iPhone I can assure you it works for iPod Touch users as well as there is a special button for you guys to click on when you download the program.  This is how to change the root password on your iDevice. Please follow the steps in the video and on here. Adding the repo to get mobile terminal apt.macosmovil.com then install mobileterminal for iOS4. Once this has been completed re spring your iDevice. To change the root password follow this 1. Open mobile terminal 2. Enter "su root" then hit return 3. Enter "alpine" (This is the default password) then hit return 3. Enter "passwd" then hit return 4. Enter YOUR NEW PASSWORD then hit return 5. Enter YOUR NEW PASSWORD AGAIN then hit return this will now take you back to the root directory 6. Enter "passwd mobile" then hit enter 7. Enter YOUR NEW PASSWORD then hit enter 8. Enter YOUR NEW PASSWORD AGAIN then hit enter Now your done.
